Garlic and Sapphire, Sarah Raven and The Scented Kitchen:
Edible Flowers & Summer Salads
I have always admired Sarah Raven, and indeed I have several of her articles saved from magazines over the last few years…….and I just LOVED her recent TV series called “Bees, Butterflies and Blooms“, which highlighted the crisis of insects; throughout the programme we saw Sarah’s attempts to “flower up” the nation to hugely increase insect food and habitat supply……something that is VERY close to my own heart.
So, I was delighted to be invited to a press day at Sarah’s Garden and Cookery School at Perch Hill Farm recently, and following on from this invitation, I was asked if I would be like to be a regular writer and contributor to Sarah’s new blog, Garlic and Sapphire – I of course accepted, and find myself part of an amazing team of writers for the new site, which includes my friend Emma from Silver Pebble and also my newest friend and contact, Rona from Flowerona. As well as the regular team, Sarah herself will also be contributing and I am thrilled to be part of it all.
My FIRST post went live yesterday, and I would love it if you popped over to see my article about The Scented Kitchen: Edible Flowers & Summer Salads, and maybe support to new site by leaving some comments, NOT just on my post, but also the other posts that have been published there…….I shall be publishing one article a month, and I have drawn up an exciting and interesting schedule of seasonal kitchen and garden topics, along with some new recipes too of course, so LOTS to look forward to over the next year!
I shall also be sharing many recipes on Garlic and Sapphire over the next year…….as well as linking some new recipes to my blog here…..for this month, if you want to see how I used Viola flowers in a simple open sandwich, take a peep at my article here: Goat’s Cheese and Apricot Tartine.
That’s all for now, I JUST had to share my exciting news with you and I hope you take a look at Garlic and Sapphire – and WATCH Out for a FABULOUS Sarah raven Giveaway that I am hosting on my blog this week……..I have some LOVELY gifts to give away! Bye for now, see you later with a BIG gateau recipe post! Karen
